Pets are even more at risk of injury from slamming doors than you and me. Your loyal, lovable friend always wants to be by your side. Sometimes, she won't think twice about the danger when the alternative is missing you, even for a minute.
Being a pet owner is more than loving them and feeding them. It's also making sure that your environment is safe for them.
We hear so many terrible stories about pets being injured in slamming doors. It breaks my heart. I can't even name the number of cats that I've had with tails that were broken from doors closing on them. I am fortunate that the tail was all that was caught in the doors. If you live in a windy place, you owe it to your precious pet to protect them from the very real hazards of a slamming door. Contact us today. We have a SoftSlam waiting for you. +64 021 140 2386 |

One of the more painful acts that a vet has to perform is removing a leg or tail from an otherwise healthy animal. All too often, a cat or dog gets caught in a slamming door and ends up with an injury that requires amputation of an important body part. While your pet can recover from these types of injuries with little or no impairment, we strive to take the danger out of the door before the injury, thereby preventing or lessening the seriousness of an injury. We love to buy our pets special things. I know that my poodle has more stuffed animals than most children. He has more collars than most people have shoes. He even has his own pillow though he prefers mine. The most important thing you can get your pet is safety. Slamming doors have always been a fact of life. When disaster strikes, we always consider ourselves lucky that it didn't turn out worse. It doesn't have to be that way. It's time we took a stand and made our homes the sanctuary that we and our pets deserve. You will enjoy peace of mind knowing that your best friend is safe even when you can't be there to watch over him. Don't delay, get your SoftSlam today. We are pet owners too and we will help you every step of the way. |
Caution: Not a happy ending We talk to a lot of people about door safety. Those discussions don't usually have happy endings. This particular story is one of those. A friend of ours decided to get her kids a kitten for Christmas. The kids were 6 and 8. She thought they were old enough to take care of a pet. She figured that the kitten that she got them would be there until they left home. At that time, one of them would take it to their new life with them, or she could keep it in its dotage. The family had the kitten for a little over month. It settle in well. It was litter trained. It loved playing and chasing the kids through the house. It took turns sleeping on each kid's bed. In early February, the winds in New Zealand can be quite strong. The family lived in an old farmhouse. When the winds kicked up, the mother went to close the doors. Just as she was closing the front door, a gust of wind whipped through the house and slammed the hallway door. The hallway door where the kitten had stopped to watch her. The door killed the kitten instantly. This accident was possibly preventable. Don't delay, get your SoftSlam today. +64 21 230 2318. Before you have to explain something horrible to your kids. |
